Faust [collection] : a lyric drama in five acts / libretto by J. Barbier and M. Carré ; music by Charles Gounod. 1860-1902.

Arranged in five groups: I. Vocal scores (33 in 34 vols.). II. Orchestra parts (97). III. Librettos (1). IV. Promptbooks (3). V. Accompanying material (60). Vocal scores include nine distinct versions: English/Italian editions by Boosey (London, 1893?), Ditson (Boston, 1864 & 1899), and Schirmer (New York, 189-?); English/French editions by Chappell (London, 190-?) and Schirmer (New York, 1902); Italian editions by Ricordi (Milano, 18--?) and Lucca (Milano, 186-?); and a French edition by Choudens (Paris, 186-?). Several copies are annotated as stage manager's guides or director's scores. Orchestra parts occur as five distinct sets. Two of these are for a "condensed" version, one of which contains holograph parts, the other which is manuscript and is further identified as the "French version." Of the remaining sets no. 12 is manuscript, no. 15 holograph, and no. 20 contains both manuscript and printed (pl. no. 20799) parts. The libretto, in German, was published by Bote & Bock (Berlin, 1861). The promptbooks all consist of a printed libretto annotated or interleaved with stage directions. The three editions include one published by Koppell (New York, n.d.), one by Nesbitt (New York, 1873), and one by the Ledger Job Printing Office (Philadelphia, 1870). The accompanying material consists of multiple copies of uncollated mimeoed stage direction interleavings which include gas, calcium, and property plots.
